A widespread area of showers and thunderstorms extends from Graham to Killeen and further south towards Austin. Individual storm cells within this Broad area are moving to the north producing periods of heavy rainfall and cloud to ground lightning strikes. Some locations will receive around a half inch of rain or more. In addition...a few of the stronger storms may produce small hail and gusty winds of 40 to 50 mph. Overall...this widespread area of rain is slowly advancing east as an upper level low slowly migrates east over the region. To the east of the Broad area of rain and thunderstorms...isolated showers and thunderstorms are occurring. Cloud to ground lightning and brief heavy rainfall are the main threats with this activity. Otherwise...expect mostly cloudy and humid conditions. Temperatures will mostly be in the 80s this afternoon...except in rain cooled areas where temperatures will fall into the 70s.
